MUSAWA Demands the Immediate Release of Activist and Cancelled Legislative Council Elections Candidate Mohammad Amer
The immediate and unconditional release of Mohmmad Amer, the social activist, and head of the cancelled Legislative Council elections’ electoral list “Tafah Al-Kail”, and the conduct of impartial investigation of the violation of arrest and detention procedures of the law and its violation of the constitutional human rights, and the accountability of its perpetrators, are a duty unacceptable to postponement or procrastination because procrastination affects constitutional human rights in an imprescriptible manner that demands accountability.
"MUSAWA" reiterates its rejection of political detention and arrest against expressing an opinion or exercising freedom of expression by criticism of government performance which is safeguarded by numerous constitutional texts and is even considered a constitutional right under Article 26 of the Basic Law.
MUSAWA calls for the abandonment of the security approach in dealing with citizens, and the cessation of all forms of violence and attacking psychological and physical integrity, and demands that administrative and criminal accountability procedures be enforced against those who detriment the rights of the detainee’s child and arresting him based on procedures marred by violations of the rights and law.
