MUSAWA Demands the Cessation of Violations against Two Women Who Reported Suspicions of Corruption and the Publication of the Results of the Investigation

MUSAWA- the Palestinian Center for the Independence of the judiciary and the Legal Profession followed up on the proceedings of the complaint against financial and administrative corruption in the Constitutional Court, made sure to have direct communication with the two staff members, who filed the complaint, and with all the relevant bodies, and carefully viewed the contents of their appeal to the President, which, if true, fall under the umbrella of corruption and reveal the violations they were and still being subject to, despite the issuance of a decision on the provision of protection, which was delayed contrary to the requirements of the law, although the subject of the complaint is extremely serious and important.

Accordingly, MUSAWA calls for the following:

  1. Canceling the measures taken against the two staff member by the Constitutional Court on 29/12/2019 to date, and to ensure their right to retain their previous functional titles, powers, and privileges, noting that MUSAWA was informed that this request has not been considered yet.
  2. Completing the investigative proceedings on the reported suspicions of financial and administrative corruption in the Constitutional Court as soon as possible.
  3. Publish the results of the investigations and bring those involved to justice to ensure their accountability.
  4. Establishing an independent commission to investigate the contents of the appeal made by the two officials to the President.
  5. Providing immediate protection to whistle-blowers.
