A periodic meeting for the coordinators of the Palestinian Human Rights Defenders Network was held in December by MUSAWA and the Network at MUSAWA’s offices in Ramallah and Gaza. The coordinators as well as other members were present in the meeting; a total of 19 members (3 women, 6 men). 

The topics discussed included: carry-out media campaign (hashtag) on Twitter and Facebook; make short video to introduce the Network; prepare a petition as part of the advocacy campaign to put pressure on authorities to endorse the Palestinian Human Rights Defenders Declaration draft; publish a press release and disseminate to local and regional websites- also work on translating it and publishing it in international media channels; and communicate with the media to cover local activities.

At the end of the meeting, participants gave the following recommendations: Implement several activities on Human Rights Day.

This meeting comes as part of a project to empower Palestinian human rights defenders, carried-out by MUSAWA both in the West Bank and Gaza, with the support of the European Union.
