ًWest Bank and Gaza
The failure of the UN Security Council to issue a UN resolution to provide humanitarian aid to our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, as well as basic necessities such as water, food, and electricity, and to rescue the injured and wounded, is yet another stain on the conscience of the free world. It exposed the fallacies of the American alliance’s claims, which continue to thwart people's right to self-determination by feigning adoption of human rights values and principles. Furthermore, their political and military envoys and warships continued to visit until this morning, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, actively taking part in the genocide against our people, killing 2,837 martyrs and injuring well over 12,000, while razing entire residential neighborhoods and displacing more than 1.5 million people. All of this is accompanied by their backing for a ground invasion of Gaza by the colonial occupation state and its army, believing that they can uproot an entire nation from its homeland and usher in a new Nakba for our people in Gaza, the majority of whom were uprooted from their cities and villages in 1948.
In response to all of this, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets around the world, including in the United States and its European allies, to support the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and resistance to occupation, demanding an end to Israeli aggression against Gaza and all of Palestine. The number of nations and people standing up for our people and their national rights is also growing, giving our people even more reason to marshal the courage and sacrifices needed to end this aggression.
We, MUSAWA – The Palestinian Center for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession, assert that in the face of genocide and displacement of our people, there is no room for neutrality, silence, or subservience; for this is our only homeland, and it is our sacred duty to protect it against all oppressors.
